About Poise Money
Poise is a budgeting app built for people whose pay doesn't arrive on the same date every month — weekly wages, fortnightly pay, four-weekly cycles and shifting shift patterns.
Why we built it
Most budgeting advice assumes a monthly salary: set aside money on the 1st, spread it across the month, repeat. That falls apart when you're paid every four weeks, when some calendar months contain two paydays and others contain one, or when your hours change week to week. Poise starts from your real pay cycle instead — it works out how many paydays each month holds, how much is genuinely safe to spend each day, and when a tight month is coming before it arrives.
How it works
You tell Poise your take-home pay, your bills and how often you're paid. From that it builds a plan around your paydays: a safe-to-spend figure for each day, reserves for the bills that fall in each cycle, and a spending log that keeps up with real life. There is no bank login and no Open Banking connection — your budget stays on your own device unless you turn on cross-device sync.
Who's behind it
Poise is a small, independent UK project. It is built by an ICAEW chartered accountant who spent years watching monthly budgets fail people who simply weren't paid monthly.
How it's funded
Poise is funded by subscriptions, not advertising. We don't run ads, we don't sell data, and we don't use advertising trackers. If a page ever contains an affiliate link, it is labelled as such.
